What a hectic summer this has been. The kids are in swimming and dance. My parents are moving in while their new place is being built. So many family birthdays (that's what happens when you have 20 nieces and nephews). Our family loves to party. And I LOVE hosting parties. I will spend months planning and scouring out the perfect decorations, recipes, and fine little details. I don't have a lot of money to spend so I make things myself and try to get as creative as possible. I inherit this trait from my mother. I thought I'd share a few pictures from my little Olivia's party back in May. It was "farm" themed.
We always have 2 parties. One with family, usually with about 50 people, and the next day with friends, about 20 people.
I had a lot of help with this party from my mom and mother-in-law. No, it was not a paleo party...my parties never are. I can't afford to feed lunch to 70 people paleo-style. But I had my own leftovers, so I was able to stick to my plan....until I made a few cheats and it took me weeks to recover. (Note to self: Don't cheat next time!) Unfortunately I didn't take enough pictures...but here are some!

My high school friend made this banner - so cute!

Farmer style veggie platter.

The family party spread. It looked yummy!

Blowing out her candle at the friend party.

Super blurry - blowing out her candle at the family party. Notice the chocolate mud puddle complete with pig!

My husband even built a fence out of scrap wood for the occasion! And my dad made wooden farm animal families that are peeking through. There were cows, pigs, chickens, donkeys and horses. So sad I didn't get a good shot of them!

The kiddos.

Farm animal books for the kiddos to take home.
So much fun. Only 3 weeks left until my daughter turns 4. Stay tuned for photos!
